For a leading global automotive manufacturer and their software partner, we contributed to the development of a new AD/ADAS software stack for the next-generation vehicle platform. The project involves taking ownership of functionality previously delivered by external system suppliers, including Low Speed Manoeuvring (LSM) features such as Park Assist, Remote Parking, and Virtual Bumper.

As part of this transition, Sigma was assigned full responsibility for the design and implementation of the Remote Parking and Park Assist Pilot features. Our scope includes requirements engineering, system design, safety concepts, implementation, and component-level testing. Remote Parking is an especially complex feature due to its many dependencies across multiple stakeholders, including remote key technology, mobile app connectivity, telematics, infotainment, user interaction, legal considerations for remote driving, and collaboration with both internal and external AD/ADAS systems.

Development is carried out primarily in C++, using the customer’s toolchain and integrated into their AD/ADAS platform. In addition, we conducted a research initiative addressing pedal misapplication within the same scope.

The work has been executed through dedicated Sigma teams, fully managed and staffed by us. Over time, the structure has evolved from two to three cross-functional teams to meet changing project demands and expanded responsibilities.

With deep expertise in safety-critical automotive software, complex system integration and feature ownership, we help accelerate the journey towards autonomous and intelligent vehicle functionality.
