To make a difference – sustainable

We try to be involved with every single one in and around our Sigma team. Since we are a broad and diverse mix of people with different backgrounds, from all corners of the globe, we are also very involved in the world around us. As a company, we feel that we have a responsibility, not only to those who work with us, but also to those we work for. We also believe in being active in creating a better tomorrow for society and people both near and far.

We have chosen to invest in being involved in and supporting a few selected projects where we feel we can make a difference – for real. Our involvement and commitment are long-term and make a big difference to a large number of people.

We are also involved in social projects that at first glance may seem small and insignificant but more than often mean a lot. And sometimes it is the small but frequent effort that makes the biggest difference.

STAR FOR LIFE

Star for Life is a unique support program created to combat the spread of HIV and AIDS among young people in southern Africa. The goal is to inspire school children to believe in their own future and their dreams, and support them in their continued pursuit of living an AIDS-free life. Star for Life was started in 2005 and today includes more than 100,000 young people and their families in South Africa and Namibia.

EXPECT A BETTER TOMORROW – THE FOUNDATION

There are theme days for most things and now also for a better tomorrow. In 2017, we decided to make New Year’s Eve the “International Expect a better tomorrow day” (Expect a better tomorrow).

It is the day when we present an initiative that will highlight an injustice, an imbalance or spread knowledge about an important issue. And in this way create a better tomorrow for someone or something.

The first year, “Segerpotten” collected money for the winner of Damallsvenskan (Swedish women’s association football top division). The following year, “Funkisfonden” told about the positive effect that sports have for everyone with intellectual disabilities. “Haveriet” spread ocean awareness and recruited young ocean ambassadors. “Femmegineering” wants to get more women into engineering and technology education.
