Connectivity is a matter of course in a large number of products today. It enables digitalization, streamlining and new services that are not possible without connectivity. For us, it is about providing communication solutions in connected products, but also about developing the necessary infrastructure in the form of mobile networks.

Our core competence lies in the connected devices and in the infrastructure where we deliver solutions for 5G, LoRa, WiFi, Bluetooth as well as various industrial and proprietary radio and antenna solutions.

We also develop hardware and applications for connected products, e.g. for Android, home automation, industry, infotainment and space.

Case – 5G development team

A completely new system architecture for building and expanding mobile networks is under development. The system includes more energy-efficient radio solutions with half the size and weight of the previous and also the industry’s most powerful baseband solution, empowering operators to meet growing demand for mobile broadband from customers, industry and IoT through a transition to 5G.
Sigma introduced a cross-functional team of eight radio and antenna developers that act as an extension of the customer’s own organization in Gothenburg. The team works with implementation and integration of radio solutions when transitioning to a new hardware platform and adapting to new frequency bands.

Sigma also delivers software teams that work on developing 5G functionality within Packet Core. The work takes place in an agile environment with an extensive code base, advanced CI/CD solutions and software that is in production at several customers, which requires high reliability and quality in each delivery.
