Case – AD Platform Development

Gothenburg is one of the cities in the world that has come furthest in preparing for a future with autonomous vehicles. Since December 2017, a unique pilot project has been underway in the city, DriveMe, which was initiated in 2013 on the initiative of Volvo Cars. Within the framework of DriveMe, a large number of research and development projects are underway, which touch on everything from legislation to parking issues. DriveMe also includes a unique test with self-driving cars on ordinary roads, in real traffic, where Sigma has been part of the delivery through one of our customer projects.

Sigma introduces two teams working on software development and analysis, mainly in sensor fusion and object tracking. The teams work in an agile setup that includes Scrum Masters and a Product Owner to manage the communication with the project in the customer’s organization. The teams deliver to several different product backlogs and focus on completing the customer’s delivery in the DriveMe project and contributing with new functionality in the customer’s AD platform.
